Birdwatching tours
A small breakdown of the species seen throughout the trip (Ecuador + Galápagos):
234 bird species (including 85 check). 12 mammal species (5 marine, 7 terrestrial). 11 reptiles and amphibians. X fish (a lot of work is needed to identify them using Go Pro images).
As far as endemic birds are concerned, we saw all those possible on the islands we visited, with the exception of the Rail and 2 finches (pointed-billed and vegetarian), as well as numerous seabirds (3 storm-petrels, Galapagos petrels, all the gulls, boobies, frigate birds, etc.). There were also 6 orcas, which were very well spotted, 1 Bryde's whale, a group of very confident bottlenose dolphins, and so on. It's very difficult for me to say which part of the trip is my favourite.... For the whole family it was the Galapagos. Perhaps for me too, because of the exceptional nature of a unique place, but the rest was also very, very beautiful.
